Oathlaw Tannadice Parish

Our ParishThe Parish of Oathlaw Tannadice is a distinctly rural one with the village of Tannadice at its heart.

The village has a large Primary School and a lovely park which is host to a number of events throughout the year as well as providing a safe place for the children of the district to play.

The area is mainly agricultural with dairy, beef, cereal, potato and sheep being the main types of farming.

The Jock Neish Scouting Centre is host to a considerable number of Scouting and Guiding Groups as well as other organisations.

The River South Esk flows through the Parish and past the back gates of the Church. It is a popular place to fish for salmon and sea trout and the village children can enjoy a swim in the hot weather.

Oathlaw Tannadice Church

Our ChurchWe are very proud of our attractive country Parish Church. It is set in an idyllic location at the edge of the conservation village of Tannadice overlooking the River South Esk.

The site on which the Church stands today has been a place of worship since the 7th Century. The present building was constructed in 1866 and has undergone several upgrades. The recent addition of an extension provides a meeting room, toilet and kitchen facilities.

The fabric of the building is cared for on an on-going basis and the finances of the Church are in a healthy condition.

The ambience of the Church incorporates several beautiful stained glass windows, a new electric organ, pew seating with cushions, an induction loop system and disabled access facilities. The interior walls have recently been painted.

These features all combine to make an attractive and practical place for worship.
